Question: Is the direct to your stateroom program in effect ?

Thinking of boarding for our short cruise with only carry-on and would like to get rid of it right away as it would be a bigger than usual carry-on...if you know what I mean.

yes -- it went into effect in February on all ships

at 11:30 people start to board the ship and can go directly to their cabins

the only exception recently was in ft lauderdale when the zuiderdale arrive back in port on april 22 with the noro virus -- the ship was cleaned thoroughly cleaned down - remained in core red for only 3 days

I just hope that we get our luggage sooner than we have in the past -- i hate getting it right around lifeboat drill and then rushing to unpack before going to dinner.

Well it has allowed me the opportunity to dine in less than dress up mode on occasion though

we have long since know to wear our dinner clothes when we get on the ship

Maybe that's why I dress causally....when I board.....so I don;t have to dress up.

I often think that they see my name on the luggage and just set it aside until after supper. !! We seldom get it early. Maybe because we board so early ?? and it's on the bottom of the pile ??

We have never had a problem getting our Luggage early.usually around 2 or 3 o`clock at the latest. I guess we have been lucky.
Would not the people with Suites recieve their Luggage first.

NOPE!!

We have been in the Penthouse several times and never got our luggage early.

One time we decided to go to the pier around 1 instead of 11 am -- still luggage did not come until lifeboat drill.

All luggage is put into those big crates and put into the "hold" area of the ship -- then the crew assigned to work that area just unload those crates -- they have no idea which cabins are penthouse or deluxe suites -- the cabin numbers mean nothing to them

We walked on with our bags. Room ready when we boarded...but we were delayed by Coast Guard inspection AND NOT ON TILL NOON.

too often we have been caught with those coast guard inspections and couldn't get on the ship right away.
