I'll be sailing on the Dawn in April and booked the Romance suite on deck 10 Back of ship. My question is Do you get enough sun on these decks to sunbathe? or is the sun blocked by other balconies?

Good question...could anybody also tell me if the same is true for the Romance suite on the Norwegian Star?

MzLuLu, when are you sailing?

Hi Star

We'll be sailing on 4/4/04. I'm kind of excited because the last time I've been on a cruise was 1969 on the Oceanic. We have taken many land vacations but through the years never took another cruise, and I'm trying to figure out why.........lol. I'm also ready to book the Infinity next year for Alaska....... The Infinity suites really look nice.

I'll be sure to let you know how our romance suite is over our Christmas cruise then! I'm sure they're pretty comparable. I am also excited about the "new" cruising...especially about these ships being so big and with all of the restaurant choices, I'm used to traditional cruising on smaller ships.

Hi Star
I'm sure I'll like freestyle also. I am not a big eater but do like to eat when I feel like eating not when someone else tells me I have to. As far as my husband goes he'll eat anything, he never complains. The only thing I'm curious about now and I have to find out soon is when the kids get off for Easter vacation. Easter is 4/11 and I'm not sure if the kids are off from school that week or the week before 4/4. Don't get me wrong, I love kids but quite a few people told us if it's a holiday week the ship becomes very crowded with kids. I have researched this ship so much I already feel as though I took my cruise........lol. I still have so many questions though...........Linda

Linda,

I know what you mean about the holiday cruises. We had to take our honeymoon after our actual wedding (which is in about a month), because my fiance's a teacher, so we're going over Xmas break, and I know it's going to be packed. That's why I'm glad to have the romance suite and our own private balcony. I don't want to fight for space! :) The one thing I have heard about holiday weeks, at least for Christmas, which I'm sure is one of the busiest, is that it's best if you don't mind eating either early (5:30) or later (9:30) because it's pretty busy in the restaurants. I thought that was perfect, we like to eat late. Someone also mentioned that it's also good sometimes to get appetizers at a smaller place (like Las Ramblas, on the Star) and then eat dinner.

Just a few things that might help, if it is busy for you. I know I signed onto NCL's site, and did the "Voyages and Pricing" thing just because after a few steps, you can see how much is "booked" for the cruise, ours is filling up fast which tells me it'll be busy.

I've also be told by NCL that with the penthouse/romance suites, you get priority tender tickets, if you have to tender rather than dock anywhere. This is helpful too!

Hi Star......
How Romantic a honeymoon cruise. My son is getting married next month (OCT) and I bought them a cruise for their shower gift. They are flying to Miami from NY and going on the Voyager for a week.

I know I'll get the perks with the suite but friends of ours decided to come along and they booked the standard room along side ours. Now I hope when I make early reservations I can also include them. I'll tip the conceirge for this favor......I just hope it doesnt become a problem.............

I few things I've been told:
The AE, AD, AC suites all have a tub with a shower head not a separate shower, as advertised on many of the NCL sites.
The Aft of the dawn was a good choice, it's quiet and u feel very little movement.
Also a beautiful view from the Aft cabins and a lot of privacy.
Anything else I hear I'll pass a long.........................Take care, Linda
