We have just booked Sovereign of the Seas and I was wondering if they have finished putting the new bedding and linens on her yet?

Also, on the 4 night cruise is there a repeater's party and one night with lobster at dinner?

Sailed her 5 years ago and enjoyed the ship. When did they refurbish the ship last?

We are booked 5/11. Cruised the sovereign about 4 years ago and really enjoyed her. Can't wait to see what differences I will notice.

I am new to this forum and first time cruiser. I also was hoping to find others cruising at the same time so let me give it a whirl... Leaving of Sovereign of the Seas on May 28, 2007. I have read many reviews and get the idea that it is worthy of my money even through some of the bad reviews. Most of my questions have been answered through these reviews and websites. I am looking forward to all the activities I have in mind. I purchased my own snorkeling equipment so I get the impression I can swim out to some of the underwater sites without paying extra. Some have said they require a vest but others have said differently.

Another thing that bothers me is when we go snorkeling or swimming I need to secure my ship cards, cash, passports, etc somewhere, somehow so it doesn't get wet or stolen. I have heard of "water wallets" but never seen any. I have read where others leave their items on shore and nothing has happened to it but this doesn't sit well with me. Any advice would be helpful. Any other cruisers on this same date would be welcomed too.

If you snorkel at CocoCay,you will need to rent a vest..........no way around it.........Liability thing........

A water wallet can be purchased onboard in the gift shop,if you dont find anything in the meantime........

This was the worst ship we were ever on. If its been refurbished they need to start all over again.
Its carpet smelled of mold and wetness, the bathrooms were always out of paper, and the cabins were the worst.
We had no water 1 night, no hot water the next night and black water that smelled backed up in our bathroom. There were 13 of us in 5 cabins and this happened to not just one of us but all of us and some worse then others.
Be AWARE, be very aware on this ship from hellX(

I read more positive postings about the Sovereign than I do negative. This is my first cruise and hope it is a good one.

You will be fine on the Sov. I can't imagine photomom having all those problems on her cruise. yes on occasion there will be toilet problems, usually cause by someone flushing some that shouldn't have been flushed. I have been on Sov. several times myself & would never consider it the ship from hell!

My wife and I have booked our 3rd anniversary on Sovereign of the Seas for June 25. I'm checking out the available excursions now. If you've taken excursions in the past in Coco Cay or Nassau, would you mind mentioning any you might consider "don't miss this!" or "avoid that"?

One excursion in particular, I was interested in: the Stingray Snorkel & Beach Break on Blackbeard's Cay. Anyone taken this, or just been to Blackbeard's Cay?

Thank you for your time and opinions!

Deck 9 will be larger oceanview cabins(157 sq ft),but no balconies(those are on deck 10).......if you want an OV and not spend as much as the ones on deck 9,book deck 8.......some obstruction, but not that bad....they are the cheapest OV cabins.......do not book on deck 7......the promenade is outside those cabins where people can walk right past your window.....

Book mid ship if you're concerned about motion.....

The cabins on the Sovereign are very small..........do not book more than 2 of you in one..........

Deck 8 is category I........deck 9 ,obstruction??I didnt think so....but to be sure, stay away from the very front...says cabin 9504 is obstructed.......plus you really dont want the very front......
