My husband & I - mellow 50-ish people - will be cruising the Mex. Rivera Jan. 19 on the Mercury. Just booked this trip, so don't even have a brochure yet from our TA! We're first time cruisers, and I've been scouring the internet and reading everything I can get my eyeballs on. We've booked a sky suite, and really don't know what to expect. I think the Cruise Reviews are helpful, but would like to hear from folks who have had personal experiences with this particular ship, and/or who are booked for the same cruise. Any advise/info will be appreciated!

We sailed on the Mercury last August. We found her to be a beautiful ship. The staff all around was the best on any cruise we've taken. Very friendly.

We tried to book a Sky Suite but unfortunately our trip was last minute and we were too late. We did have a standard balcony cabin and it was fine so I'm sure the sky suite will be great for you.

We didn't go to any of the main shows however did go to hear Pearl Kaufman play the piano. She was outstanding and hopefully for your sake she'll be playing on your trip.

The food was terrific. We ate most of our dinners in the alternate dining area by the indoor aft pool. More casual, which we like, and no extra charge. Menu was limited however.

If you have any specific questions feel free to Email me directly.

Where would I find out how to sign up or get info about the Cruise Critic party? I've searched Celebrity's site, but can't find it. Thanks for the info!

We wish we were going again. Sailed on Mercury out of S.F. to Mexico 10/26. The ship is beautiful, the food is great, and the staff is so helpful. We had a cat. 2, with veranda and loved it. Enough room and we overpacked!! We saw all the shows - enjoyed each one. Can't wait to do it again.

Congratulations - you will have a great trip. I hope your Sky Suite is on Deck 12 because they have wonderful large balconies. Our first Celebrity sailing was on Mercury in SS 1202. We have sailed on the M-class ships since then, but are booked on Mercury for the New Year's Adults-only sailing, this time in a Royal Suite. Once you have been exposed to the level of service provided to suites on Celebrity, little else will do.

Here is the link to the sign-up for the CC parties: https://www.celebrity.com/cruisecritic/entry.asp?
