Questions regarding the Upgraded Ecstasy and progresso mexico

We are scheduled to go on the Ecstasy in september to introduce cruising to our 3 year old. We took our first child when he was three and he did great. My question is whether there is a height limit or age limit on the ships pool slide? I remember our first child was disappointed that he couldn't slide and I can't remember the restriction.

Also is there anything in progresso that is really good to do for a 4 member family with a 6 and 3 year old. It looks pretty boring from the excursion list and what there is excludes children. Heck I won't mind though a day on board is just fine with me thank-you.

Can anyone who was on this ship in the past before the remodel and after comment on the remodel.

Lastly have the shows gotten any better. That was our main disappointment 2 years ago.

TIA
Happy sailings

Progresso is one of my least favorite ports of all time. I too will stay on the ship the next time I'm on a cruise that stops there. As far as the Ectasy, I'm sorry that I can't help you there. A girl in my office just got back from the Ectasy about a month ago and she loved it, but she was never on it before the refurbishing and they had booked a Penthouse Suite. I've been on the Celebration 4 times (which I think is about the same size as the Ectasy) and I had a great time on all of them. Yes, it's a smaller shp, but that didn't matter to me.

We liked Progresso. It was the only time my husband and I split up for our excursions...as he wanted to go to Chitzen Itza and I wanted to go the Merida and the Mexican Rodeo. (Merida & Shopping, Mexican Buffet & Horse Show) Both may be long days for the kids..you'd have to decide for yourself. Surprisingly, at least because of the comments above, this is one port I want to go back to sometime.

Hi, we've been there twice and fixing to go back in july, have been on the elation and the ecstasy and the ecstasy was by far a much more beautiful ship. Progresso we loved it both times! the first time we went freestyle and just roamed the little town and courtyard where the shops are.. I love the people there, they aren't unruly or pushy, they smile and it's just a fabulous and quaint village. That's what we like though, we like the undeveloped areas that are fresh from tourism (ironic isn't it) lol... the second time we did the mayan reality tour we saw further into progresso and got to see mayan ruins (small ones) a very unique cemetary that had alot of history to it (i know kinda morbid but was still interesting) and a genuine mayan family, and we stopped by an old catholic church that was very beautiful and got to see a spanish dance performed by the most wonderfully cute kids! If you like offbeat (and we do) this is a good one to go on. this next time around we are going to chichenitza because that's one of the places my husband has always wanted to see and the kids think it looks just like the scenes from the cartoon movie Eldorado so that is why they want to see it. As far as kids I'm not sure, I won't know until july??

Have fun on your cruise! You won't be disappointed ;)
