I agree with all that has been said about the Galaxy.  We went on 2 cruises on the Galaxy.  In August of 2002 we did the 10 Western Caribbean itinerary with our family.  This past August we did the 11 night Eastern Caribbean cruise.  We felt that the service and food exceeded our expectations.   Aside from the understated elegance of the Galaxy, that Charles mentioned, I'd like to add some of my personal experiences onboard.

My daughter got engaged on the first formal night.  Our waiter and the rest of the dinng room staff made this wonderul occassion even more special.  The wine steward suggested the perfect bottle of champagne, & the head waiter brought out a special cake (that I didn't think to order).  She and her fiance got the royal treatment and a song.

I was very dissappointed when the Galaxy was taken out of Baltimore for the summer cruises to the Caribbean.  I would have repeated these itineraries again.  We've been on 17 cruises on various cruise lines , but the Galaxy has been my favorite.

The ship offered something for all age groups.  My children's favorite was Tex Mex night and the Western line dancing.  We all loved the pool and although somedays it was more difficult to find a lounge chair, we always managed.  There is nothing as relaxing as soaking up some rays sipping the drink of the day.  The food was outstanding no matter where you went for a meal.  We always ate dinner in the dinning room, but for lunch and breakfast we'd go to the grill or buffet.  We tried not to miss the afternoon tea.  We certainly didn't need to eat 4 or five meals a day but what a delicious way to keep up our strength.

We were all impressed at the friendliness of every crew member.  We were always greeted with a smile.  Everyone did their best to make the passengers feel pampered .  The Galaxy is a very well run ship, and the wonderful attitude of the crew can be felt and appreciated.
