Well, I spoke to a CS supervisor today and said that the most I could get was the $200 ship board credit. She explained to me that a person cannot always get the full difference in price because of the time limitations Carnival sets for getting back credit. Sounded like a bunch of "BS" to me but agreed on the $200 credit (which I know I will be using on drinks and excursions). She also decided to upgrade my room from an 8A guarantee to a cabin on category 8E. So I guess in the end, I did not do too bad...just hope the rates don't go down any lower.
