RCCL messed up our air...

I booked our Thanksgiving 2007 cruise in the summer of 2006 with our trusty AAA TA. For months I hunted high & low for airfare, but I couldn't find fare that matched our needs that could beat RCCL's(go figure) so 4-5 months ago I told my TA to attach the air to the cruise. We are a party of eight (four of us, and both sets of parents). A month ago when I went in to pay the final payment our TA gave us the list of flights for everyone (all on the same plane) and seat assignments that she was given from RCCL. We lucked out and with departure early enough and should be on the Jewel by 1pm. This past Saturday I got a frantic call fr. my TA who said the doc's were in, but there's a problem. For whatever reason, RCCL decided to take two of us(my inlaws) and put them on a later flight-4 hrs.later than the rest of us. Mind you we live 1 1/2 hours from Phila. and we were going to go in two cars together. My TA called RCCL and she said she was basically blown off by whomever she talked with. She's still trying to go higher on the chain, but the answer she got was that if my inlaws want to pay for a flight deviation, there's nothing they will do. Mind you everything/everybody was crossed referenced so as far as she's concerned, we shouldnt have been split up. They did tell her that if the other 6 want to pay for deviation, they'll put us on the later flight also. AAA has been nice enough to offer to pay for a limo for my inlaws so they dont have to wait in the airport for 4-5 hrs. for their flight which I thought was VERY nice of them. Has anyone had this problem before, and were you able to get any satisfaction from RCCL?

Oh-Wow! I certainly wouldn't be happy either. I don't know why you or the in-laws would have to pay for the flight deviation. Did rccl book seperate flights, or did the airlines change the flights? Hope you get results. Keep us posted.

when I booked summer of '06 I was determined not to book the air thru the cruiseline and was going to do it separately...but when the airlines finally got their flights out early this year, I hunted high/low for reasonable air, and it ended up that Royal beat the prices I could find-never thought that they would...mind you of course I decide to cruise the week of Thanksgiving...one of the highest priced weeks around...beside---DH,myself and kids have the great flight down...we leave at 7:40 arrive at FLL at 10:40ish...we should be having lunch and frozen thingys by noon/oneish...we'll just have to meet the inlaws with drinks when they get there. (oops, did I just say that???LOL)
