okay,
i looked at the early savers price (which is very very fair price, the cheapest ive seen) but there is a disclaimer stating the deposit you pay for your cruise is nonrefundable.

well,
i was under the impression that when you book, the regular price, you have up to so many days before the cruise to be refunded your deposit. does this still stand true?
im confused.
if anyone can clear this up for me, let me know please. thanks in advance.
=huh

It is like airline tickets. If you want to protect your deposit, you have to pay the higher price. In return for the lower price, you forfeit your deposit if you change your mind.

My travel agents told me that I can move my deposit to another cruise ship. I have one year to do it if I cancel my Carnival cruise date.

So they have the same deals as the airlines do.... which is they give you one year to use your deposit.

Hello Luci, be sure you find out all the facts before you make your deposit. Here's a little more about that early saver discount. this is from another thread on the same topic, from the Q& A page:

According to Carnival, should one book with the early saver discount, and later find the need to cancel, one can transfer the booking (for a $50 / person fee) to another sailing within 12 months. A full deposit would be required for the new booking and the original deposit will be refunded in the form of an OBC.

So a simple change in you booking will cost you $100 ($50 per person) and basically the whole deposit is not refundable. You only get onboard credit, for the remaining amount, whether you are likely to spend that much on the ship or not.

Actually, I have every intention of taking advantage of the early booking discount. Of all my cruises, I have only found the need to cancel twice. I wouldn't have cancelled those except that I found something that I thought was a little better, lol. So far, the early booking discounts I've seen are even better than military discounts.

=yeah That early saver promo is saving people lots of money but just beware that it is very restrictive. The deposit is non refundable to be sure. Also, no name changes allowed in these bookings.
