SO me and my family will be going on our cruise for the first time in our lives. Its going to be me (age 21) mother, father, and two sisters age 14 and 16

I wanted to know the following...

1) any good websites for discounts? we want to get good discounted prices for the month of july...

2) we want to go on a cruise (5-7 days?) throughout the bahamas or carribean...wherever the water is the most bluest and clearest..is the royal the best for this type of cruise?

3) is there anything better than the royal carribean?

and i think the rest of the questions i can ask the cruise company representitives

thanks guys!!!!!

Shady,

Welcome to cruising and to these boards.

I think Royal Caribbean is a great choice for a family such as yours. My only advice, though, is to understand that all RCI ships are not equipped equally. Try to book on one of their newer ships, where you will be assured to have all of the amenities and activities. The older ships do not have all of them.

You also asked about good web sites for achieving the best discount. If you shop lots of different sources -- real TA's and various web sites --you should be able to get equal pricing from several sources. I would strongly advise you to give consideration to a real travel agency. For first timers, there simply are a million details where the assistance of an experienced, cruise-savvy agent can be of real benefit. Look for CLIA certification as a good indication that this particular TA knows more about cruising than you do!

Good luck.

I think the Western Caribbean has the clearest and bluest water. Great for snorkeling and diving, especially in Cozumel, Roatan and Belize. Awesome.

I think you'll enjoy Royal Caribbean but one of my favorite itineraries is the one operated by Carnival Legand out of Tampa to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Roatan and Beleze.

I think your really enjoy Royal as well, there is s much to do on and off the ship. I'd defiantly recommend them especially with a 14 and 16 year old. Enjoy your caribbean cystal waters! :)

FYI.....even TAs cant discount RCCL cruises so there prices should all be the same........only difference is some TAs give perks....(OBC,bottle of wine, tote bag,etc)......

Check out www.rccl.com to see the different ships and itineraries..

We have been on RCI and Princess, You would really love RCI Freedom of the Seas or Liberty of the Seas. We like the eastern Caribbean best. It's so beautiful. But all of the Caribbean is fantastic. Have a great time. This won't be your last Cruise, You will be back for more.;)
