This is a good question because it is a fairly new "marketing" tool. Celebrity is rolling out some new cruise enhancements: Champagne upon arrival or OJ, Frost yTowels at the poolside or upon re-embarkation from a port, Sherbert served by the Pool, Themed Luncheons at the Buffet, guest lecturers, new Conceirage Service if booked into Cat. 1 A cabins, not having to wait with the herd in Public areas to disembark on the last day. All of these accept Conceirage are for no additional costs. Have a great cruise.

For those who are first-time cruisers, it should seem like "just the way they do it." For those who have cruised before, but it will be the first on Celebrity, they are hoping it will make those people feel more special. For those who've been on Celebrity before, It's supposed to be perceived as "enhancements".

This is an attempt by Celebrity to differentiate themselves from other lines, and to be perceived as more of a "premium line" which is what they have billed themselves to be. I'll be experiencing the rebranding for our first time on Galaxy next month, and I'm curious about how it will affect our perceptions of a line we already really enjoy (Celebrity is our prefered cruise line). From the descriptives, I've not seen anything that would make me justify spending more for a Celebrity cruise, but we shall see, as the proof of the taste is in the pudding.

Sailed Celebrity 5 times in the past 4 years with two more this year. Personally, I don't see their "rebranding" as adding that much nor would I pay more for it. Personally, I think that Celebrity has moved down into the Mass Market section. They attract a different crowd than RCI, Carnival, and Princess, but in the end based on the new Millie class ships and the pricing, they are nothing more than Mass Market.

It appears the rebranding and the changes to the Captain's Club go hand in hand. A little more for the infrequent or new cruisers and a little less for those that have showed loyalty and/or commitment in the past.

I too agree with Paul and John. Although the enhancements are nice, they certainly would not entice me to pay more for a cruise. I too enjoy the Celebrity brand and have never had a cruise I didn't talk positively about when I returned home. Just put me on a beautiful ship with good weather and calm seas, good food and nice surroundings, then I am happy.
Bon Voyage

We just returned form sailing on the Summit to Alaska - yes they did have welcome aboard champian or orange juice. When returning from port they had hot chochlete which was most welcome being it was very cold in Alaska.

I have not seen any price increase do to the rebranding.Just added service (little extras).I also don't think they have taken anything away from the captains club membership for those that joined prior to the change. Those that joined orig. still get priority boarding and disembarkation even at the classic level. Those that are joining now are the ones that get a bit less because they do not get the priority stuff. Some people need more time to get used to new ideas, I think it will all work out, as Celebrity is one of the best.

We got back a week ago And I haven't had time to write a review but let me say what ever they changed it was great !!!!
The cold cloths when you return to the ship and by the pool were great and had people on the docks turning green with envy.
My fullreview will be coming soon!!ljeanbrown wrote:

New added nicities seem pretty special to me. They may be minor but I can't wait. Now on the other side of the coin, all this is nothing if the food and service isn't what we are expecting. cold towels after a long day of sight seeing won't replace quality food and service. I have heard so much praise about Celebrity, but have also heard the past few years they are not one bit better than any other mass marketed line. We will see.
