Tweety, We were on the Elation (same class of ship) on the Riviera almost all the way to the rear. There were some vibrations, but not a lot of noise. I don't think it would be cause for concern. If you want to upgrade to be closer to the "action", then it would be something to consider, but if you are like us, it will be fun even if you had to sleep in the engine room!! We always bring earplugs because, even if you have a cabin on top of the ship, there are sometimes noisy neighbors. I would recommend you stay where you are, and spend the upgrade money on more frozen drinks!!
