"We'll be there between 8 - 12." They can't hit a 4 hour window, and I still have to pay the $65 service call. I've been sitting here all morning, because if they call and you aren't here, they assume you want to cancel. I've been held hostage in my own house all day, and it's going to cost me at least $65......not to mention the fact that now I have to run all over town like a mad woman when they are done to try to get everything done that I have to do. My time is worth something, too, you know!

He's now "on his way" at 12:30, and thought he was 25-30 minutes away. I bet he stops for lunch, too.

There....down off my soap box!

I totally understand. I now buy all my appliances from a local dealer in the small area we live in. I am able to leave my door unlocked and he just comes by, fixes what needs to be fixed, leaves the bill, locks the door and leaves. Of course I know who this is, one advantage to living in a small town.

My friend waited for COMCAST to come and hook up his internet on some super fast thing. He waited for 2 hours AFTER the guy was supposed to be there. The guy finally showed up, tried to make the connection, but it wouldn't work. He finally told my friend that they knew it wouldn't since he's at the end of the line, and it just doesn't work well at the end of the line (What the he.....???) and he just packed up and left.

A whole Saturday blown for some cockamamie story like that? He turned around and billed them for his time, he was furious. I'm SURE it won't amount to anything, but it made him feel a little less like blowing up the next COMCAST truck he saw.

We just went through this very same aggravation. Scheduled Direct TV to come to the house this past Monday from 8-12. After 3 phone calls he showed up at 1pm. It wouldn't have been as bad but all we were doing was upgading one of our boxes to an HD box for a new HD Plasma we bought for our bedroom, so he was here all of 10 mins. When we first upgraded to HD last year and needed the new dish installed he showed at 3pm for an 8-12 appt. It's probably not the installers fault, Direct Tv I'm sure overload them with installs that can't be done in the time given.
