Emerald Beach. Island beachcomber and Emerald beach resorts.

Is a beautiful beach. The water is usually calm, making it a good place to go to with small kids. There even is a playground down at one end of the beach.
And the shoreline is lined with sea grape and palm trees. And a few iguanas :grin
You can rent stuff for water sports there from the huts on the beach. Kayaks, and sunfish etc. But it is not a good snorkeling area. It is not far from the airport and downtown Charlotte Amalie. You get there by taxi. There are usually some in the hotel areas for the ride home.

2
Bluebeards beach//Ritz Carlton/Turtle Cove

You can get to Bluebeards beach through the public access road just past the Ritz Carlton Resort's main entrance.
It is a quiet beach great for relaxing.. There are walkways lined with palm trees, and a beautiful view. And usually a nice breeze.
You can watch the windsurfers in the bay. There can be some sea grass in some parts of the water.
There is the hotel restaurant and bar that you can use ‘ you get there by taxi.

The Turtle cove is home to the Ritz Carlton
There are plenty of restaurants and bars, and water sport booths. And you can rent umbrellas and chairs.
The beach is beautiful and clean. On one side of the cove it is rocky, and you can fish from it.

3
Morningstar beach, /Marriot resort.

There are plenty of beachside restaurants and bars and water sports booths.
You can lay out in a lounge chair with a tall cool drink and watch the world go by :lol you can see the cruise ships from here

You can use the hotel restaurant and bar, and you can rent stuff for the water fun.

There are a few areas with course sand and pebbles, but most of it is just a nice sandy shore. The water is fairly calm

4
Cowpet Bay

It is a smashing little beach, tons of coconut trees.
The water is calm and clear as a bell, it is a real cove, so there are rocky areas on both sides and a sandy center :lol so it is good for snorkeling.
You can rent things for water sports also. And you can rent chairs etc. from the hotels.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars, and even gift shops to amble through. You get to it by taxi.

5
Magens Bay
Is a beautiful mile long beach.
They do charge an entry fee to help maintain the beach. $3 for an adult. $1 for a car and .25 cents per child.
Most of the time the water there is very calm, except for a few times during Jan /Feb./march when the trade winds shift and can cause some wave action.
The bay is rather shallow at first, so it is great for kids to swim in, and they do have lifeguards.
But it is not a good beach to snorkel in.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the beach, and restrooms and changing rooms and showers.. . And a gift shop or two
And you can rent stuff for water sports, and also beach chairs, Floats, Lockers,

It is the most popular beach on the island, so it can get crowded, especially when there are a few cruise ships in port. Also this is a favorite spot for the locals, so if you are there on the weekends you can expect to see large family groups in the picnic area.
It is easy to get there by taxi.

Little Magens
It is a part of Magens Bay.
If you look to the right, towards the Peterborg Peninsula, you will find a few le sandy coves. The largest one is called.†Little Magens. “
To get to it you have to start out from Magens Bay. If you stand facing the water at Magens Bay, you will walk to your right. When you get to the end of the beach you continue on along the rocky shoreline.
It is a pretty beach, and not crowded because this is the only way to it.. no roads. So there is no food and drinks to be bought there. Nothing but the beach.

There is no parking and no road. Sometimes there are nude sunbathers there even though nude sunbathing is illegal in the Virgin Islands.
It is also a popular beach for gay residents of the island.

7
Secret Harbor and Secret Harbor Resort.
This is a small beach set in a quiet bay, so it stays very calm and is a great place to just relax and sunbathe and swim. There are plenty of palm trees with hammocks suspended among them.
This is the place where you see those beautiful photos taken of two palm trees and an empty beach and someone swinging in that hammock.
There is a floating raft anchored out in the middle of the bay. It is a great place to sunbathe on.
You can rent gear from the dive shop, and there are chairs to rent.
You can get food and drinks from the resort Beach bar. And also use their restrooms.
Easy to get to by taxi.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
8
Sugar bay, Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa
This little bay is full of fun stuff. You can rent a sunfish, jet skis, kayaks or snorkeling gear.
This bay also has a floating platform out in the middle, and it is nice and calm for swimming and floating.
There are chairs and umbrellas, and you can get food and drinks from the hotel. And also use the restrooms.
. It is an easy taxi ride.

Sapphire Beach and resort.
Sapphire beach as has been noted, is home to a few iguanas :lol
They tend to be around a pond on the left side, but can also come onto the beautiful white sand and join you.
There is shade in the shape of the sea grape trees
You can rent wind surfing, kayaks, jet skis & parasailing gear from a booth. And there is pretty good snorkeling in the reefs on the right.
There is also a Bar and restaurant, and a gift shop. You can rent chairs and use the restrooms at the hotel.
And on Sundays you can find volleyball games going on. And also live entertainment
Easy to get to by taxi.

10
Limetree Beach
Limetree beach is a small beach in a natural cove. You are just around the bay from Bluebeards Beach club.
This is a quiet beach that makes it a good choice to rest and relax.
One drawback is that the entrance into the water can be a bit tricky at times, as the first part of it is rocky, and it has mild surf.
They have a water sports hut, but it is not always open. You can get food, drinks and chairs from the hotel, plus they allow you to use the restrooms.
It is best to arrange for your taxi to comeback and pick you up, although you can call one from the hotel.
11
Bolongo beach/Bolongo Bay resort
Another great beach with coconut trees and hammocks hanging between them.
Plus the palm frond umbrellas to make it really feel tropical.
You can also rent chairs. Food and drinks can be purchased from the hotel
The snorkeling is good in the rocky area on the right, and the waters are calm
You can rent water bikes and kayaks and snorkeling gear.
You can get here by taxi.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
12
Hull Bay
Hull bay
Is on the North side of the island, and is a favorite with the locals.
During the week you will find a lot of local fishermen who anchor their boats here.

On the weekends the locals often picnic here.
This is a nice place to get away from it all. There is shade from the sea grape trees, and there is a very good restaurant and a bar.
You can rent water sport gear here.
You will have to arrange for a taxi to pick you up.
++++++++++++++++++++
13
Brewer's Bay
Now this is a very beautiful beach with calm seas. The water here is exceptionally clear.
There is shade from the ubiquitous sea grape and palm trees
This area is not heavily developed, so you buy food and drinks from the roadside food vans. The fare will be local food. And it is very good :thumb
But there are no other amenities.
Make sure you arrange for a taxi pickup.
++++++++++++++++++++++++
14
Water Bay, aka Pineapple Bay/ Renaissance Beach
Is a nice beach with a gentle surf, as there is a breeze blowing most of the time.
Some of the names above are the names from businesses that were here but have closed down.
You can find some hammocks and some chairs left from when they were open.
There is a lot of sea grass along the shore and in the water.
You can get food and drinks from a hotel a short walk away. And you are actually about 5 mins away from Coki Beach.
Arrange for a taxi pickup.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=
15 Mandahl bay
Mandah; bay is pretty quiet; you may find a few fishermen there, but that is about it.
It a ‘close to nature†beach. There is not a lot of development in that area, so no bathrooms or places to eat.
But it is a great place to watch the brown Pelicans dive for their food.
There are tide pools that are great fun to poke around in….
You can get there by taxi, but arrange for a pickup for the return trip.

16
Lindquist beach</>
This is a very beautiful and clean beach.
You get to it by a dirt road, as it is another of those undeveloped beaches, which translates into no food or drink and no bathrooms :lol
The sea is clear and calm, and sandy. So it is good for kids.
There is shade from the many trees along the edges.
This is a really pretty beach, but one that I would go to in a group, as there can sometimes be people who seem to live in the thick bushes.
Another beach that you will need to arrange for a taxi pickup in advance

17
Vessup Bay
Another beach that is mostly undeveloped, so there are plenty of cactus plants and century plants, and lots of sea grape trees along the beach.
You may find seagrass in the water, and sometimes washed up onshore.
But the water is calm.
The shoreline is a long one, and so is great for walking.
There is no food or drinks here, but there is a place to rent gear for water sports.
Arrange for that taxi pickup.
18
Dorothea Bay
is set amongst the hills. This is a windy beach, with some sand but mostly small pebbles.
And you do not find many if any people here. It is beautiful, but another beach I would not go to unless a part of a group.
The coastline is rocky and yet this is a picturesque beach.
There is no food, drinks etc. here.
Arrange the taxi pickup

19
Coki
Coki beach is a small beach that is popular with the people from the cruise ships, so can get very crowded.
Now this place is full of people trying to sell or rent things.
Chairs, umbrellas, snorkel equipment and dive stuff.. Food, drink, souvenirs. Hair braiding..wraps…..
And you can rent jet skis right across the road from the beach.

And right next door is the Coral World Marine Park. A very interesting place to go and observe the sea life without getting your feet wet.
Easy to get there by taxi.
