We just made reservations to sail on the carnival triumph on the 3rd of febuary 2007.

We too a room with a balcony but I noticed that on my reservation it dosent give a room # it just says Balcony Guarranteed?

I guess it means I will get a balcony but im not sure witch one and on what deck.

I was told by a freind when they do this I could end up with a free upgrade?? Then again they never sailled either so.....

Tell me what you know

Thanks

When you book a "guarantee" cabin, that means that you are at least guaranteed the class of cabin that you booked. In your case, this will probably be a 6a balcony cabin. It is possible that you might get an upgrade, but this may just mean that you'll get a balcony cabin on a higher deck or more desirable location. I've heard of people getting upgrade to suites too, but I wouldn't count on that, especially if you're a first time Carnival cruiser.

Congrats on your booking, and =welcome to the board!!! The Triumph is a great ship...don't miss sandwiches at the NT Deli, and be sure to hang out at the Big Easy Bar!

for your sailing a balcony guarantee is $100pp cheaper then if you selected a set cabin on the Upper deck.
The higher you go the more it costs.
Empress deck is $150.pp more
Verandah deck is $180pp more
Lido deck is 210pp more.

Since you have never sailed before a guarantee is worth the savings. If you dont care where your balcony is located or you dont need to be next to other people then thats the way to book
