I forgot to mention something on my Review of the Sensation for 3/8/2003 - under Reviews that I think is important.

The ship goes through periods of bad vibration! We were lucky and had a room in the middle of the ship and we never felt anything, but when we were at either end seeing shows or at a restaurant, there were times when the ship vibrated so bad I was kind of frightened. It was very annoying and had we had a room on either end of the ship, I may never have wanted to cruise again (this was our first cruise). When I read other reviews of other ships, this is something that is NOT supposed to be there or be "normal" but apparently Carnival doesn't fix it. I heard they had other ships with the same problem - but not all ships. Maybe the old ships?? So. . . get a room in the middle of the ship. We had M119.

We were on the same ship/same time and only noticed the vibration a couple times. Mostly when turning or docking during short periods of using the thrusters. Not a big deal and it does happen on many ships, not just Carnivals. This was our 3rd cruise and it was by far the smoothest one ever! Our room was midship and you could barely feel any movement at all. The only place I noticed any was in the forward lounge during the shows and then it wasn't much. In fact I was disapointed in the lack of movement!
It was a little to smooth for me, I like to know that I am on a boat!

We had a great time and have posted a review also.

Well, we have never cruised before so I did not know this was common and according to some I have talked to it is not - but at least people have a heads up on where NOT to get a room. I know from now on we will always ask for a room in the middle of the ship just in case.

I can see that having never cruised before the movements and vibration could make someone a bit 'excited' the first time. It's not so much common but it does happen and sometimes it's more noticable than others. The first ship that we cruised on was built in 1965, long before the stabilizers of today were installed. Those ships rocked constantly! Todays ships are 80% -90% more stabil than the older ones, not perfect but far better.

Center and lower rooms are always the best..............it's that "polar moment of inertia" thing.

The seas were about as quiet as you will ever see on that cruise. That last night the seas were dead calm!

Wanna go for an e-ticket ride try the same cruise in September.

The only complaints that we heard were from our dinner tablemates.
They had all booked their cruises less than 3 weeks before sailing and were all upset because they got early seating instead of late and could not change.
Late seating always fills up first.............kinda like the scuba excursions.

I've heard and read all the Carnival horror stories and we didn't expirience any of them.

Gotcha! Now that we have a cruise "under our belt" I would not think too much about a little vibration. We slept like babies in our room. I am glad you folks had a grand time as we did also. I saw your pictures on "photo galleries" and do not recall seeing you but with so many on the ship - that only makes sense. We for sure plan to take another cruise and hopefully it will be in the year 2005.
