Anyone know if you sign up to do the river tubing in Jamiaca if there is time to visit the falls in the afternoon by catamaran?

I have read in our cruise booklet to allow one hour between shore excursions. (The ending of one to the beginning of the next).
We did the river tubing in June , it was great! The river was cloudy because of rains , but the tour guides said it it usually clear and you can see the bottom.

Don't bother booking the falls. We were there 2 yrs ago. Booked the tubing in the morning, ate lunch back on the ship then took a cab to the falls. The falls are about a 5-10 minute drive from Ochio Rios where the ships dock. The only word of caution is to use a cab that the ship allows near the boat. We got one that took us to the falls and waited for us to take us back. Cost was around $30-40 for 4 people.

Tubing is much better than the falls in my humble opinion.

Rick, thanks so much for your input!! How do you get to the river tubing (bus, jeep cab?) and will my 10 year old have any problems doing it? I wonde if we "should" see the falls while we are there (that is all you ever see advertised) or perhaps skip it and go to Margheritaville? Any thoughts?

For the tubing you get picked up at the wharf by a couple of mini vans. When we did it there were about 20 people and they had 3 vans waiting. There will be no problems bringing your son along, it's a lot of fun and doesn't require any sort of skill or atlethic ability.

As for making your own way to the falls, I was glad I went but just as glad I didn't make it my major trip. It is kind of neat to see hundreds of people making their way up the falls.

My wife and I just booked another cruise for March and we've already booked the tubing.
