Has anyone been to the island of Roatan? What kind of shore excursions did you go on? I'm particularly interested in the horsebackriding.

We were in Roatan last April on NCL. We took the excursion to Tabayana beach and brought our own snorkel equipment. We have snorkeled in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Belize (but we weren't in the best location in Belize) but Roatan was the best so far. The coral and abundance of fish was amazing. The lunch they served was ok. My husband would have enjoyed more native foods than barbequed chicken and rice which we can make at home. But it was interesting to see the island as the bus drove to the beach. Enjoy!

I'm not aware of any horseback riding opportunities on Roatan. Most excursions are more directed towards the beach and ocean plus a few that are tours of the island. Hopefully you will find a source for horseback riding
