Hi, miss gail!
I hope you spotted my response to your posting on another forum. We shall be on the Dawn for this trip too. So many things to look forward to. Our first cruise, but a celebration occasion so we are determined to make it special.
We are flying into Vancouver from UK on 6th, staying at Pan Pacific while we explore the city. First visited Vancouver 3 years ago and loved it. Now intend to catch some of the sights we couldn't catch first time round.
Hope to hear from other 8/8 cruisers soon!

Flainefan,

So glad we will not be the only one's on the ship that week. I was beginning to wonder. We will be staying at the Pan Pacific also. The night of the 7th. Hope to see the ship come in the next morning. Leaving the kids at home. This will be a new experience for us. We've never been away from home without kids. Not since our honeymoom anyway. I'll keep checking back on all the boards to chat with you. Maybe we will find each other in Vancouver. Miss Gail

Hi Miss Gail!
Just posted message to you on another site, but I see you are currently on line with this forum. Strange to think I'm typing this in London and you may see it almost immediately in US. and that our paths will converge soon on the Dawn.
Best regards to you & hubby.

Hi Flainefan,

Sorry I missed you last night. I've been planning this trip since this time last year, so it is great have someone who will actually be on the ship with me. Is your trip to commemorate a special occasion of some kind?? Mine was actually a birthday present to my husband. It was originally supposed to be in June but we had to postpone to August. So now we will be on the ship over our anniversary. Still havent gotten him to slow down long enough to make any decisions regarding excursions. Maybe this weekend.

Like you , I have been planning this trip since last year. We booked it last August. I shall be retiring (early)from my teaching post this summer so this is a celebration treat, using some of the lump sum I get.

We love to travel, and if we come a long distance to the States, we like to do it well because it will probably be a once in a lifetime trip. There are so many other places to see in this world and not enough time (or money!) to do everything, so we make the most of it while we can.

I think the Dawn is a good choice. The ships with weekend sailings seem to be stacked up in the ports, but there is less traffic for us, according to the port calendar I found.
Regards,
FF
