I am wondereing...
Anyone know if the the view is obstructed on balcony?
Navigator, AFT, 9312, D1 cat, looks to be first on the "bump"

First time cruise - was told by RCL this is a good room. What do you all think?

Hello angelsis, I have no personal experience with this ship, but I took a look at the deck plans I would think it highly unlikely that there could be any obstruction there. The life boats are probably three decks below that.

It's probably a pretty good room. Very centrally located, so getting around the ship should be easy. That's definitely a consideration, on such a big ship. (We had an aft facing verandah on the Mariner, a sister ship, and although we loved the views it was quite a long walk to get anywhere, from there.)

We've also had a similiar cabin "on the cusp of the bump" like this one, when we were on the Serenade. Having the railing of the verandah angled out like these cabins have, made the verandah a bit larger than other side facing cabins of the same catagory. The extra space was nice.

Although if you stand in the angled section of the verandah, you have the ability to look back at the ship, and see down the length of it, onto nearby verandahs. And if you are standing there, other people on their verandahs can see you too. Still, the remaining part of your verandah is just as private as any other verandah

The only negative point about that cabin, in my opinion, is the fact that it connects to the room next to it. I've found that connecting rooms sometimes have a much smaller love seat/sofa there to allow space for the door.

Wow. Great feedback! Thanks so much. Everything you wrote makes sense. I hadn't thought about the connecting door - but that makes sense too! If that is the case, I'll sacrifice for a little better balcony! Just the fact that we can open the door and have that feeling of space is worth everything to me. I love the ocean and can't wait to wake up and have that first cup of coffee on the balcony.

I'm so excited! How does one stand the wait??!!

thank you again Gayle - I see only 13 days for your nxt cruise! Whoo hoo:thumb

We love the hump and will always book early on Royal Caribbean to make sure we get it on future cruises. We got a hump cabin by chance on our first cruise and loved it so much we booked the same on the next 2 cruises. The cabin you are talking about gives you a view down both sides of the ship. No one can see on to your balcony unless they litteraly stick their head around the corner. I think you would be really happy with it. Maybe give it a try once and see what you think. Happy booking and let us know what you decide to do, I'm curious.

Great! Regardless of which cabin you book you will have a great time and will love the ship. Keep us updated. We also booked the bump on our Freedom cruise. Both ships are very similar are layed out very much the same way. Though we loved both ships we actually liked the Navigator a bit more. Have a fantastic vacation!! Can't wait for your review. Oh...didn't catch the question about the obstructed view the first time. The answer is no, the view is great!
