Room Guarantee

We booked a class 8 inside cabin "guarantee".

Our understanding is that we are guaranteed "at least" a deck 8 or higher inside, or an upgrade to an outside cabin.

When do we find out what our cabin number and/or class of cabin is?

We're hoping to get bumped up. Did we do the right thing?

Thanks!

We had a Z inside guarantee on the Millie on the 2/1 cruise (Thias was the lowest cost, like a catagory 12). We were given a catagory 9 inside. This would have cost us about $250 each had we booked that catagory to begin with. We wanted an 8 which was an outside but no luck. We booked only a month before the cruise and about 3 days after we booked we went into the Celebrity web site, entered our confirmation number and saw our cabin assignment.

You may get upgraded. You MAY get upgraded to another inside cabin. It is not likely that you would get upgraded to outside. Hardly ever happens. If you are happy with taking the "gamble" of any room in the Cat 8 for the price that you have gotten then you will be happy regardless of what happens and you might get happier. Cross your fingers is all you can do.

Doubtful about the upgrade to outside room. We've never found out what room we were in until we got to the port and checked in. But, we've always got an upgrade. Good luck!

My mistake.

My wife tells me we are guaranteed category 9 which is the highest inside category. So either we will be upgraded to an outside cabin, or not upgraded at all, since the only thing above 9 is outside.

I was just wondering if "guarantees" were commonly used, otherwise, why do they offer them?
