I have a room booked on the summet for March. Room # 7176. It is right by the elevators. Can anybody tell me if this is a mistake or does it not matter.

On Princess our room was right next to the elevator & if noise is what you are worried about, it was not a problem at all for us. In fact, we found it very convenient to be next to the elevator. On Summet we were in 7200 all the way at the back of the ship & on more than 1 occasion when we reached the elevator husband remembered something he had left in the cabin so it was all the way back down the hall to fetch it.

We were in 7174 -right next door. The noise was never a problem. You are quite a few feet away from the elevators. You can see them when you open your door.

We are also booked on the Summit for the March 5th cruise and staying in cabin 7173. This appears to be the same room opposite side of the ship. We chose this room because the balcony seems to be extended.
Big Mike was the size of your balcony bigger than standard and were you able to have lounge chairs on it?
I don't see the elevator being a concern, more of a convenience being so close.

Deck was slightly bigger then others in the category. Our room steward switched out what were two small chairs for small lounge chairs. Had many an ice cube melt away as I fell asleep in the chairs. There's nothing like it. Enjoy.
