Just booked a full suite! We had to cancel this same Rotterdam cruise in Feb. at the very last minute, so we are doubly excited this time. Anyone else going with us???

I'm sorry to say that we are not going with you, even though I would like to very much. We must wait until December, but we hope that you have a wonderful time and enjoy the "suite" life. Is this your first full suite? If it is, then you are about to be spoiled, and if it is not, then you already know the wonderful things awaiting you. We found the Neptune Lounge a great place to meet your fellow suite passengers, and they always have tempting goodies out. I'm so happy for you and so envious at the same time.

Thank you, sage. You are always so gracious in wishing everyone a wonderful cruise. I have posted before that we had to cancel on 2/2 for a family medical emergency while already in Ft.L at the dock! We did get a full refund through our insurance. So this re-book means so much to us. Our family medical problem still exists, but we have determined, with family approval, that this has gone on so long that we just can't put our life on hold forever and will not cancel this cruise no matter what happens with that. Then we have been very worried about the political situation and re-booking for early April. This morning we finally just decided we couldn't let our lives be determined by so many unknowns and we would throw caution to the wind and book the darn cruise!

Yes, this is our first full suite and we are going to just enjoy and savor every minute of it. We particularly wanted to be on the Rotterdam with the Neptune. I think it means more to us now than if we had gone in Feb.- now that we know how the best made plans can go suddenly awry through no fault of our own. Tomorrow is my birthday, so this is an extra special present for me to be re-packing my bags with the cruise only 2 1/2 weeks away. Actually I just recently unpacked from Feb.- I just couldn't bring myself to admit we had not gone and look at my formal outfits unused. Does this sound crazy?

I wish you were going with us, too.

Hi Peaches
I also wish you a safe trip, my Birthday is in a few days also, but no cruise for me. I have to wait a few months when we head up to Alaska.
Just as Sage was saying once you are in a Suite it is hard to go back, with all the little perks they tell you about, and the one's they don't, you will have a great time no matter where the ship is heading.
I am glad to see that you are going on Vacation and not letting things at home bother you. When Wendy and I leave we just tell our people not to call because what can we do from the ship, and all it would do is make us have a bad time on the vacation.
You know, I think I have enough FF miles and you have that sofa bed in your Suite, so you let me know. ha ha ha

We had owned our own business for 10 years, so I know what it is like trying to get away from problems, Barry. But when you retire you think those days are over; I guess they never are. In Feb. it was my fault- I actually called home myself to see what was new when we got to Ft. L. and was told about the emergency. Never again!!! And we are leaving no forwarding address! I may tell everyone we are on a Celebrity ship and let them try to find us.

Would love to have you in the suite with us, of course, but I think I read this morning that all FF miles were being cancelled for the first week in April. LOL.

Peaches,

Happy Birthday one day early. I think that you are going to have a wonderful time on this cruise, especially with your great attitude about life. Sometimes the time you take for just the two of you is the most special time of your life, and I hope that this will be one of those times. Go and enjoy all the special treats that come with the suite. We love the Neptune Lounge, but be warned that they have all kind of tempting treats out all day long. For me, it was the chocolates and the cup of tea that seemed to always be ready for me each morning when I went in. They remember such wonderful little things that mean so much. Be sure and have breakfast delivered at least one morning to your veranda. Oh, I'm going on too much. Have a wonderful cruise, don't worry about things out of your control, and enjoy the time you have together. May your seas be calm and your cruise one of those special times of your life.

Speaking of Breakfast, what we do is order coffee and fruit to have out on the Veranda sometime around 6:30 for our wakeup. Then about two or so hours latter, we go to the Queen's/Kings room for a real Breakfast. Peaches you will love it in there, once you have been there for breakfast they know what you want to drink, ie coffee whatever, and the next morning when you come in they will have it right there for you, and if you come in at a set time like we do, they will have the table all ready for you.
Are you sure they will not take my FF miles, they are from Delta, and they aren't Bankrupt yet, like most of them.
Ya'll have fun now, and let us know when you come back, and how many Weeks before your next cruise in a Suite.

Okay, here's my plan- coffee, melon, preferably honeydew, and maybe a small Danish around 7 on the verandah. Shower and dress leisurely, then mosey on down to the Queen's room around 8:30 or 9 where a Bloody Mary and coffee will be waiting at my table. (Not a big drinker, but do love a Bloody Mary at brunch and wine with dinner) I will then alternate between soft scrambled eggs or an omelette with fruit one morning and lox and bagel with onion, cream cheese, and tomato the next. How does that sound? Then head to the pool or Promenade Deck with my book if at sea or into the port on those days. Or maybe I'll just nap and read on the verandah for awhile. Believe me I am going to enjoy every minute at my own pace which will be relaxed! Is that a plan or what? More suggestions will be welcomed!

Sounds absolutely wonderful, Peaches. Actually, I Know that it is wonderful. Rotterdam is a very beautiful ship and you will have a great time. I'm really happy for you that you made this booking. A treat to really look forward to.

....Don't forget about the Neptune Lounge on Rotterdam. You can stroll in there anytime after about 7:00 A .M.and have your pick of espresso/capuchino....muffins, danish, cereal, fruit, cheese........It'sgreat!

s7s, here we go again- more decisions! Maybe I'll alternate between the Neptune and room service for the wake up coffee and goodies. Our cabin is just aft of the Neptune, midship. Then, of course, there is that Neptune afternoon tea and snacks, but what about High Tea on the silver service on the verandah? Maybe I will need back to backs just to be able to fit in all the perks!
