It's fairly common knowledge along the west coast that the stretch of water from LA North is one.... or sure can be one of the worst stretches around. Gong to Alaska from San Fran just means that you are outside more than the usual Vancouver/Seattle runs. We went from Vcr on the 6th June (Infinity) and when crusing "outside" on our return it was very noticeable and the weather was not actually that bad. I don't expect that the Dawn would be any better than the Infinity in sea's...they're both just big floating hotels.
