Royal carribean cruise query

Hi everyone

New to cruising and looking for some advice ….

Looking at royal carribean cruise from Southampton in July

2 adults
3 children

No rooms to accommodate us all right now so would need two rooms - what’s best options ?

Also if a room was to suddenly become available at a later date that could have all of us can you upgrade and pay more

Also royal carribean have a sale at moment does the price ever come down just before the cruise sales etc

And is royal carribean really worth it ? Seems a lot more expensive than other companies like MSc ?

Many thanks

#1 Your cruise if not fully booked MAY come down after final payment day. Which is to say if you have booked already and placed a down payment depending on your cruise line a date for final payment is 2-3 months before the cruise. If you do not make final payment your reservations are cancelled and your deposit returned or whatever your written agreement was. You may then book again to attempt to get a better price and payment will be in full. You likely will have fewer rooms to choose from. No guarantee price will be less. Cruise lines are pretty good at filling a ship and if your cruise is not a popular itinerary or time they will have dropped pricing through the time you booked to cut off date to account for this. You can get price drops if the cruise line allows this. Some don't. To the best if my knowledge RCL does but booking in the UK may be different.
#2 Ages of the kids make a difference. Younger kids need an adult in each room. There are adjoining rooms in most categories. An inside room across the hall would likely be less expensive.
#3 RCL has a good product for kids in my experience with Grandkids. But depending on the ship some classes are better than others. Oasis is a big ship but when full from my personal experience. Using the kids stuff for 8-11 yr olds can mean long lines unless you upgrade to what ever package it is to put you kids first in line. Eg. Oasis only has one flow rider. Bigger ships have two.

#4. My first and best advice is to get a REAL Knowledgeable Travel agent. Put them to work for you. Pricing is the same to all agents unless they are big enough to deal in Mass Blocks. Over here they don't cost us any extra. (I'm not familiar with UK however You are different over there in the Mother land :))

I have never been on MSC but from what I read RCL is #1 with kids and obviously cheaper than Disney.
