Royal Princess back to Back Feb 2014 what to do in Ft Lauderdale between Cruises ?

Hi All Princess Lovers; we're taking our 12th & 13th Princess Cruises in the Caribbean on the Royal Princess in Feb 2014. Been to Ft Lauderdale before, so looking for something fun to do on our day between cruises (a Sunday of course) as the ship gets in early and usually leaves around 4 PM the same day, we're looking for something to do beyond the Everglades, Miami Beach, etc..any suggestions ?

Maybe get together with another couple, rent a car and take a trip to Key West for the day?

I see this post is over a year old, but, if anyone comes accross this post, It would NEVER be a good idea to do this. Is approx 3-4 hr drive to Key West EACH WAY. You would never make it. IF Princess offers the tour...take it. This way if there are delays, the ship would wait. There are plenty of things to do in Ft Lauderdale. That is NOT one of them
