Rum cakes in GC

OK, since time is limited I need to know the best place to pick up some Tortuga rum cakes while in Grand Cayman . I remember them being sold at Bayside in Miami so technically I could purchase some the night before we even get on the ship but I would like to help out the GC economy.

They are literally available all over the place. However, if you find the factory stores, which are both ways on the main street that runs in front of the tender pier, you can both buy some for home and sample all of the flavors as you shop. A nice treat. We are partial to the small cakes and the ones packed with small bottles of rum are almost the same price as without in other stores.

On our last cruise, believe it or not, they were cheaper on the ship than from the port.

Yeah, if you buy them at the tortuga factory store in GC you can not only taste test all the cake you want, you can also test all the rum you want! In the end I don't think it matters where you buy the rum cakes, because although they are good for sure (if you like rum) I tend to think in the way of fruitcakes, rum cakes have that same indestructible character about them :)

There is a store located to the left of the docks. We stopped in on the way to Capt. Marvins. There was another one at the Turtle Farm. Those cakes are so yummy. I forgot to bring someone something back and ended up giving them my own rum cake. I was so bummed.
