We were considering taking a 10-11 day cruise, then it hit us... for about the same money we could take two back to back cruises on the same ship and be on vacation for 14 days (specifically the Paradise...going to Belize, Honduras, Grand Cayman, Cozumel,Nassau, Dominican Republic, and St. Thomas). My question to y'all is this:

would the shows/entertainment change the next week
does anyone know if they offer a discount for staying on
would we have to disembark and go thru checking in all over (hopefully leaving luggage on the ship)

Back to back vs. 10-12 day cruise. Hi Shannon.

Would the shows/entertainment change the next week- NO and the Menu too will be the same. Think of this as two 7 night cruises.

Does anyone know if they offer a discount for staying on - Yes, obviously you save the airfare and should request that you stay in the same cabin.

Would we have to disembark and go thru checking in all over (hopefully leaving luggage on the ship - NO You should be able to disembark at the home port just like if it were a port of call and going on a tour or walk.

*Clothes- I will add, that you won't need any more clothes for 10-12 or 14 days of cruising than a 7 night trip. Just rinse out or dry clean anything that might need laundering and you will wear again. Plan on mix or matching outfits; black, tan or white depending on the climate are good basic colors to work with.
Bon Voyage

Carnival does give an extra $100 off the second week if you do a back to back. It says so in their brochure and they did give it to us for our back to back.

Do you have to get off the ship and reregister for the second week? YES but not in the same way as you do for a new boarding. With the new rules as of Jan 1, 2003 you do get off the ship and go into the terminal. You do reregister at the pursers station and get a new sign and sail card.

If you stay in the same room you do NOT have to pack up. If you change rooms pack your loose items and leave stuff on the hanger the steward will move it if you let them know a couple days in advance.

We just did this on the Victory so I know it works.

Have done a few back to backs and as long as you have the same cabin, you don't check in and out per say. Simply present yourself to customs, turn around and get back on the ship. With RCCL, they have a crew member escort you all the way through.

Just see the purser to get more coupon books and your new card.
