I am single, while most of my friends are married with kids and not in a position to cruise very often, if at all. Thus, I have cruised six times "solo" and will begin number seven this weekend. I enjoy myself, and get involved in a lot of activities. I have always met very nice people on the ship, and have even been invited to join them for meals, drinks, etc. I usually take the cruise line directed port activities as I like the security and organization of them, and it is another opportunity to meet people from the same ship. Having all of your time for yourself to plan can be a bonus.... but, more than anything do what you want and have fun, and don't wallow in the idea that you are "alone."
