Hi,
I have long hair and I had an "Updo" with my hair already dry for one of the formal nights on the Spirit last Feb. It was very comparable to what I pay back home and the stylist did a great job and in rapid time! He sprayed it very well so that the breezes wouldn't wreck it and I was very impressed. With tip I think it was about $35-40-ish.

Just a tip if you do get your hair done in the salon--if they offer you a fancy barrette, it will cost you $25. This happened to me and they didn't tell me it would cost anything until they told me the total bill. They didn't wash and dry my hair, only curled it and put in a barrette for $65 total. I looked like I was going to the prom (my friends called me Buffy all night) and it was not worth the cost in my opinion. BTW, that same fancy barrette can be purchased at Target for $6.

Oh wow, that's a rip off! Thanks for the info I was thinking of having them do my hair for a formal night.

I will pass this information off to my friend who is going with us. We were both going to go have our hair done. Not now. THANKS!

I had a wonderful experience with an "Updo" for formal night. Please see my post above. I was also offered a rhinestone barette but I simply declined! Check it out, price and what they do before making a decision. By the way --- even back home my hair guy does not wash my hair that day. Dirty Hair is the best hair for creating formal style looks. It has more of the natural oils in it so it holds the style better and longer. Brides are generally told to wash the day before or the morning of and completely blow dry so the Salon on the ship not washing it is nothing different or bad. It's the norm.
I had a great experience and would do it again -- but hey, to each his own!
