We are cruising from San Diego in Jan. Looking for hotel - any suggestions?

Well having stayed at the wim of Celebrity just this past Jan in San Diego I can highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Islandia. I'm not sure of the rates but the area is quiet on a harbour area north of the city. Gret facilities. Its not handy to downtown or airport however. $20.00 with tip in via taxi from the airport so I would think the dock would be a little more.

Here are a couple of other options closer to the pier than the Hyatt Regency Islandia, which is closer to the airport but farther from the pier. Call for pricing.

I have heard the Holiday inn is expensive, as it is almost directly across the street from the pier, and you do pay for that convenience.
Each of the 1,2 @3 above are with 5 minutes of the pier by taxi.
Altough I live in San Diego, I have never had the occaison to stay at any of the above hotels so I cannot comment on their accomodations. I think some of them have been mentioned on other threads about hotels in San Diego. Otherwise you must judge by the chains reputaion.

Hi Linda - Many hotels are convenient to the port. We've stayed at the Holiday Inn (a couple of times), across the street from the dock and it was fine, although pricey for what it was. Last time we stayed at the MARRIOTT in Seaview Village. Very convenient and close to everything (easy to domin San Diego). Hyatt and Embassy Suites are convenient too. Port and airport are very close to all of these.

I will be on the Mercury on January 30th, when In January are you going?
I got 3 rooms for our party thru Priceline, at the Manchester Hyatt Regency, which
is in the gaslight district also close to the pier for $80.00 per night
