Hi! We're sailing on Radiance of the Seas to Mexico 1/22/2010. We live about 2 hours away and would like to drive to San Diego and leave our car. Anyone have any suggestions about where to park our car for the 10 days we're gone? Thanks.

There is a lot across the street ...

The parking lot is marked by the white box to the right and a little below the Monarch of the Seas.

In the above photo, the HAL Oosterdam is on the left and the parking lot is on the right. The Holiday in (center) is a favorite place to stay for those that like to be near the action.

I'm just curious, the parking lot has parking meters....how does that work for a week's parking?
The parking lot is on the far right side. There are no meters in the parking lot. What you see in the middle is metered parking, but that is not for overnight cruise parking.

Now thats an old pic,cuz the Monarch is all ours now:p:p:p Here in Florida.....
That is the Monarch and the Monarch moved to Florida around October 2008 if I recall correctly. However, if you go to Local.Live.Com you will see the Monarch docked in San Diego. I believe the image is at least two years old. I don't know how often it is updated. If you go to Google Maps you will see the Freedom of the Seas anachored near Cozumel. So that is from 2006.

I was on the ship once. Not my favorite ship, but nothing wrong with it for a three night cruise. However, the crew as a whole was the best I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. I've met some individuals that were better, but never an entire crew that could match the one I sailed with.

Parking in San Diego

Parking is pretty steep at $15.00 a day. You can do better at the airport and take the free shuttle. The Holiday Inn also offers stay and park packages for about the same price as parking alone in the lot if you want to go the day before.

Thank you so much for the info on the parking. I have been checking into different hotels that offer the "snooze and cruise", but I have a group of 8 couples going and some do not want to go the day before since we live so close. Several of us will go down early so I'll check on the Holiday Inn. thanks again! Sandy
