We are arriving a day early and are going to stay at a hotel. We would like to stay under $150 for the night, but don't want to stay in a dive. Does anyone have any good or points on hotels in San Juan?

We will be flying to San Juan on Nov. 1 for one night before our Sea Princess cruise. We bid on Priceline.com and got the Condado Plaza hotel for $75. There are 6 of us going, so bid on all 3 rooms at once. This hotel just had a $40 million renovation and normally goes for double or triple what we paid. You might want to check it out.

Last Dec we did a post cruise at the Carib Hilton. The best way to describe that stay is it was a loud smelly cess pool. And that is being nice.

We did hear good things about that Wyndham Old San Juan from other people on our flight home. Oh well, live and learn.

We stayed at the Hotel Milano last year and plan to return this year. Nice place in Old San Juan and a good price. Check out their website.

Hotel Milano. It's small, clean, and the staff is very friendly. We look forward to staying there again.

Stayed at the Wyndham...you can see your ship from the front of the hotel...and it is but a minute into Old Town....prices up...but, then...it is convenient and clean and respectable....dining facilities were excellent...would stay there again....particularly love the taxi situation ...at the airport you stand in line; you are next and an agent writes down where you are going and tells you the price..and the taxi takes you right there and that is the charge...nice...

We stayed at the Mariott last April. It was very nice and we got a pre/post cruise rate of $159 (total cost) a night for four people. This was originally a +$350 a night reservation, but found the pre/post cruise deal on the Mariott web site.

This was a very nice place with a great pool area. A great Japanse and Italian rest very close by. We felt safe walking around, although there was security patrolling the hotel roof all night.

The taxi/van ride from the airport was $18 I think, possibly $20 for all four of us. About the same to the port.

If we were heading back to San Juan we would stay there again.
