San Juan rain forest tour question

Does the rainforest tour in San Juan require a lot of walking? We are going next week with my mother in law and she can't walk long distances up hills. Is this fairly easy to traverse or should we look for something else to do in San Juan?

Yes, this trip does involve a lot of walking on uneven terrain. We were quite hot and bothered on it.

Check with your cruise line. Holland America offers two Rain Forest tours. One includes hiking, but the other is for the hiking-challenged set. It's a drive thru without the hiking. If your cruise line doesn't offer it, do a little research. You probably can book it indpendently.

El Yunque Rain Forest Drive

DURATION: Approximately 4 1/2 - 5 hours
PRICE: $39 Adult $24 Child

Get away from the city for a one-hour drive to the El Yunque Rain Forest-the only tropical rain forest in United States' territory, with tropical woodlands of giant ferns, wild orchids and crystalline waterfalls spread over hills and valleys.

You'll stop briefly at La Coca Waterfall, the Natural Pool, the Tourist Recreation Center and the observation tower. At the Natural Pool you can take a short stroll on a mostly paved pathway in the forest. There will also be a visit to a handicrafts shop before the return trip to San Juan.
