Hi Dana-

We sailed on Century two years ago and were very impressed with how clean and sanitary everything was. Around every corner, there were people cleaning. Even in the buffets, we never saw a single server or wait staff person without gloves on. The public bathrooms were always spotless. We have been on three other cruise lines and none of them compared with the cleanliness of the Century. I hope that they have not gone down that much in the past two years!!

I hope you have a wonderful cruise!

Maybe THAT'S why they're moving her to Europe...hmmm. No, actually I agree with Kim. It could have just been a fluke thing and besides, If she did fail an inspection you can BET they'll get that resolved in quick order :thumb

Just got off the Century. They are OBSESSED with sanitation and health code in response to the recent bad rating. Our waiter told us about the strict enforcement of many new policies.

I'm not saying that it's acceptable to fail the inspection, but it does happen. The Century had passed its last 17 inspections. I read the inspection report & was not too shocked by what I saw. I'm sure that they have already corrected all violations.

Ditto what pbk917 said. I really feel this is a great ship and that while they dropped the ball and let their score slip, I feel that they will have done everything possible to correct the issues and keep up their good track record.

Here is a link that I posted on another thread, it shows that since the Century entered service they have always had good scores and I really believe they have corrected the issues.
