Santa is bringing us a cruise...what to do for under the tree?

I have 3 children ages 7,9,12 and decided that this year I wasn't going to buy them all sorts of things that they don't need, instead I booked a cruise and we are leaving 1/4 on the Victory. But I do need to put stuff under the tree, because 2 of the 3 still "believe" I thought I would somehow make them guess and put things like suntan lotion and sunglasses wrapped up. (we live in Maine so it isn't really easy to find that stuff this time of year!) Anyone have any suggestions for things I could wrap up?

The Hallmark stores have Bon Voyage cards. I got 1 for each of my girls, each is getting a photo album, roll of film, etc.
Hope this is helpful!!!

Put all the items you can find like thir summer clothes and swimsuits and cruise line books -- they are very colorful -- sunglasses, etc into one of your SUITCASES and wrap the suitcase like a big Christmas Present! Or even use several peices of your luggage this way! They do also sell kids luggage, too. Try at a local discount store. Or even get them new backpacks and fill these with said items and wrap them. Also, a lot of the party supply stores (we have Bartz's in Wisconsin) have things for beach theme parties, luau's etc all year round that would work. Beach balls, crepe paper palm trees, etc. Have fun! :)

How about getting them books, coloring books, crayons or games they can take along with them on the plane and have for the ship? You might also want to visit a craft store, even WalMart, for items to start a scrapbook of their cruise. Getting them their own camera and film to carry with them may make them more interested in documenting their trip in a scrapbook or photo album. How about getting them their own carryon bag and wrapping everything in that?

If you're planning on snorkeling, how about their own equipment? You can find that stuff pretty cheap on line and you don't have to worry about them sharing with 100 other people.

Good luck!

disposable cameras make great stocking stuffers, pocket size address books are also good so they can write down addresses of the new friends they make on board. books on tape are also good for the plane ride down as well as pocket size video games.
Where in Maine are you? Given our last storm i'm soooo jealous you get to leave this mess, i hope you are booked to fly down a day early i've heard lots of weather related horror stories (missing the ship, ect) and would hate to hear your Christmas present turn into the vacation from ****. Have a great time!!!

well it is probably a little late for my response but.... I have the same issue this year, but I really planned ahead and bought them for Christmas everything I would have had to have bought anyway, shorts, swimsuits, each got a rolling duffle bag, backpack, sunglasses and the funnest is a big box of Mardi Gras Beads and related Mardi Gras fun items as we are leaving out of New Orleans in February. Christmas is in a few days and I hope they will be pleased. When I booked I said that Christmas would have to be less in order to do the cruise but I think they still expect the same Christmas without a cruise!! Kids, what can I say. OH and I almost forgot, go to your bank and get whatever currency for where you are traveling, probably pesos. Give the kids in their stocking whatever amount in pesos (or whatever currency) that you would have normally given them for spending money, or in the Bon Voyage card already recommended. Just remember, whatever you had to buy the kids for vacation, wrap it up and put a bow on it, that's just what I did. Lots of clothes and travel necessities. Have a great vacation and a merry Christmas!!!!
