I will be on the Spirit in April and one of the ports it Santo Tomas De Castilla and I'm having a very hard time finding a good excursion that they offer..nothing really jumps at me like the other ports. I have read a little about the place and not impressed. Has anyone been to this port and if so what did you like for the prices. As of right now my dh and I are thinking of just staying on the ship for this port..which would really disapoint me since we have seen 2 of the 4 other ports and what to see others.

Hampster, we did a tour while there in Dec and if you are going to do anything I would suggest you use the tour guide we did, I will have to find the name for you. That being said, I will be honest, if we do the itinerary again we will just get off the ship, visit the delightful shopping area (enclosed) right by the ship and let it go at that. It was one port we were not overly impressed with. This is our opinion, others may feel entirely different...

Nita,
So you are able to get off right at the pier? Did it seem like a safe place to go off and shop without a "tourguide"? What do you mean my enclosed?

Lori, I've been trying to decide what to do in Guatemala too. I've been trying to get more information on the Go With Gus humanitarian tour, some people really rave about it. I had posted on the ports of call board and didn't get any response. The big thing for us is that we will be traveling as a family and I don't want something too long or too strenuous. I really don't think we want to do anything that will keep us cooped up in a tour bus for a long drive, but by what I have read in Guatemala you get around by using a river boat. I hope you get some good answers.
