Hello! We are going on our first cruise aboard the Emerald Princess in Nov. Does anyone know how to get the passes for the Sanctuary? Thanks!

Well, I would assume that you purchase them in the Spa area, but could be wrong. I'm sure someone will answer who has been there, done that!! :)

Enjoy your cruise!! :boogie:

Hi - When you get onboard there will be a table set up by the spa and you can sign up then. If you are not purchasing for the whole cruise then I think you might have to get them on the days you want to use them but they will be able to tell you if that is right when you are onboard. I am interested in doing this for our hawaii cruise in January and was dismayed to see that you cannot reserve them online ahead of time.

I hope you will post when you return about whether or not you used the sanctuary and your experience if you did use it.

How much are the day passes? And do they really cover the whole day, or just a few hours, like I read elsewhere? And can you buy a full week pass?

Gayle - I have read different prices per day for the passes - last one I read was $15 a day. They do have a whole cruise (week) option as well. I will make sure to get this info when I am on the Sapphire on 9/26 and will post it here.

Sanctuary

We were on the Caribbean Princess Sept 5th cruise.

A crew member was stationed at the entrance to the sanctuary.

The rates were $20 for a full day or $10 per half day.

First come, first served each day. No reservations.

Morning: 8.30 AM to 12.30 PM
Afternoon: 1.30 PM to 5.30 PM

A full cruise package worked out to $15. per day (per person).

Cheers,
Zip

Just a personal opinion, been on many cruises and the sanctuary is just a another money grabber. The services you get is what they used to do in the past for free. Now they find a way to charge for it. So if you are willing, go for it. Your choice.
Have fun. The cruise lines will keep charging if we keep accepting.

Jeanie...don't knock it 'til you've tried it :D ! I did a half day at the Sanctuary on our Emerald Great Escape cruise and I must say that I enjoyed every minute of the solitude I found in the Sanctuary....it was well worth the charge and I would do it again if I were cruising to a warm weather destination...in fact I would consider purchasing the full cruise option.....especially if we were cruising during a very busy time (e.g. Spring Break, Holiday cruise, etc).

The Sanctuary might not be to everyone's taste. If you like the excitement of all the comings and goings of your fellow cruisers, if you like MUTS, if you love the pool games, if you love the closeness of all those chaise lounges then perhaps it would not be to your taste. However, if you are looking for a super comfortable lounge chair with space to move, a terrific view and enough peace and quiet to actually be able to concentrate on your favourite beach read (oxymoron :D )then a half day at the Sanctuary might be a real treat for you!

Hey...I loved the Beach Bungalow at Princess Cays too! What can I say? Maybe what seems like a money grab to some is a real treat to someone else! Isn't it great to have choices! :)

Hi - Just returned from the Sapphire and the thermal sanctuary onboard was $85 pp for the week or $149 for the couple. We purchased both weeks and used it every single day.
