scariest view on M-Class ships

I've been reading up on the MClass ships lately, getting stoked for my next voyage. People write a lot about the architecture of the ships: the overhangs, the atrium, the indoor spa, etc. But one thing I've never seen mentioned is the windows in the floor of the buffet restaurant. They are next to the tables by the in the alcoves that jut out from the overhang.

Has anyone else gotten a little woozy looking all the way down to the sea, from at least 10 decks in the air, as the water goes rushing by?

Well you know..the first time I thought what's with this??? It sure is a long way down but for some reason it doesn't bother me. And heights usually do. Standing by the railing on one of the little jut outs, while the ship is docked...looking down at the people getting off and on is what get to me.
enjoy your planning.

I get a big kick out of those window's & try to sit close to them because I find the view while the ship is moving to be hypnotizing. We were on the Infinity this past July and they had one of these areas roped off and warning tape covered the window. Kind of made me think what would happen if one gave way. Actually, being that it's in the buffet area I don't think I would fit through the opening after I experience the buffet.

The windows in the floor are fun as they offer an extra and unusual view of the sea. We love the connection to the ocean that the ship provides. The expansive prommenade deck not only was our favorite place to be because you feel as if you could reach out your hand and touch the waves but it is a great place to try and walk off all of the "Oh my god will we ever eat this well ever again?" and "How will I ever go back to regular food again?" cousine the Infinity offers! But - we thought it was amusing that alot of people didn't even seem to notice the windows in the floor of the buffet at all! But then the food is so good that once you have your plates full who can think of much else?

We know we will book on Celebrity from now on...and the Infinity is, so far, first place in our hearts.

Howdy Arizonashow!

Are you referring to the outdoor promenade on the same level as the RendezVous lounge . . I guess that's the Promenade Deck, huh?

I too really liked being out there. It was so peaceful, the blue of the hull was soothing, the ocean just passing by. The lounge chairs also had comfy padded covers.

Mine was a Hawaii cruise, and the night we were anchored off Maui, we could plainly see porpoises swimming about, near the ship.

Funny, I noticed these "windows" about 15 minutes after sitting down for the first time in the buffet, and wow, did I notice it. I thought something was wrong and I got a dizzy spell. I am not comfortable with heights either but once I realized what I was seeing and calmed down I really enjoyed the view. Very unique, we met some friend for breakfast every morning and were always early so we had our "table" with the "deck view."

Several people have mentioned they aren't comfortable with heights. I have no trouble on any deck looking down when the ship is at sea, when it is docked I can not look over the rail, same distance down, different perspective.
