We are sailing 12/18 on the Norwegian Sun and will be in Roatan on Tuesday.
My husband and daughter would very much like to try scuba diving in Roatan; however, they have NO certifications, etc. Is there anywhere they would be able to go to possibly take some instruction and then "jump in"?
Thanks so much...we are very much looking forward to our first visit to Roatan!

My husband and I were in Roatan in May - he's certified and I am not. We set up our dive through
http://www.roatansaltnpepper.com/

They picked us up at the dock, took us to the west end of the island where the divemaster came and got us to go back to his dive shop to get our gear. Once we got the gear we went to the shore and I practiced clearing my mask and retrieving my regulator underwater. Then we got in the boat and went out to the ocean. At about 10 feet we practiced the two skills again and then dove for about 25 minutes to about 40 feet. James, the instructor, was great - and extremely patient!! After the three of us dove we were going to do a second dive - I opted not to because I wanted my husband to be able to go to 100 feet or so and since I'm not certified that isn't the best thing to do - so they went and I hung out on the boat.

After the dive we went back to the hotel that saltnpepper do their tours out of (Lost Paradise Inn) and had the best meal of the entire vacation - it was 2 lobster tails that were boiled then BBQ'd - GREAT!!!

I would highly recommend this for your day in Roatan! It was our favorite part of the cruise.
