we were on her February 2007.what a wonderful ship!!ANYHOO...does she *STILL* have FREE laundry available in her laundry rooms for all passengers..??..

the ratio of passengers on our sailing was 80% British, and with their severe weight restrictions for luggage, Princess was kind bearing in mind they had a LOT of use ,and they were free..
we have a sailing on her for a 10 dayer to Alaska with the Sea Quack Duckie crew,in August 2009.. and with weather changes from San Francisco to Alaska;airlines for baggage and such.. I was wondering if laundry was still free??....thanks for current input!!..:)..Joanne

Give me a couple weeks and I'll let you know, I sail on her 10/13 from Quebec to NYC.

It's my understanding that Princess has eliminated traditional dry cleaning throughout their fleet for environmental reasons, and they are now restricting laundry in Alaskan waters for the same reason. No launderette facilities can be used in Alaska waters. For those who want laundry done, Princess will hold laundry until the ship is out of Alaskan waters, wash and return the contents afterwards. This change is quite recent.

well thanks to John -Cruisaholic!!.he is on his Canada -New England sailing ... he PM'd me that INDEED the Sea Princess does still have FREE use of washers and dryers.. in the launderettes..cost for clothes soap only in dispensers!!..Whahoo!!.. good to know for cruisers on that ship!!...:)..Joanne

One additional note that may be helpful....I overheard people doing laundry (while I was ironing) talking to NOT use a full container of the detergent from the machines, it was too much. One lady said she used 1/3 of the container.

Thanks John.. for a moment I thought I would be washing out the smalls in the sink :lol

nice to know that Princess still has a laundry.. of any kind.
