I'll have to wait a few weeks to compare the Sea Princess the Grand. We've been on the Royal Princess also. The Sea and Dawn are sister ships so should be very similar.
We had A408, a cat BA on Aloha deck on the Sea Princess. The cabin was large enough for the two of us, once we stowed all our bags under the bed. There was plenty of closet space for all of our stuff. What we lacked was room to store all of our purchases that we gathered on the way, so it was getting a little cluttered after 7 days, in spite of the heroic efforts of our stewardess. In hindsight, if we'd stored our dirty clothes in a suitcase we would have had more space.
The bathroom was small and had a shower only. I found myself fighting the shower curtain every day, but there was plenty of hot water and we managed just fine. As I recall there wasn't much room in there to store all of the impedimenta that my wife uses to look so ravishing.
The balcony was small and had room for two chairs and a small table. The bed was comfy enough and we weren't bothered by any noise from the Lido deck, not that there was much going on up there anyway. We were on an Alaska cruise and the weather was pretty miserable most of the time. The doorways are inset and that helps cut down the noise from the passageway.
We had late traditional dining and loved it. Our waiter and assistant were incredible. The food was good to excellent and menus had plenty of choices. The maitre d' made shrimp scampi for one of our tablemates when she said that she was disappointed it hadn't been included in the Italian menu. He brought everyone a little side plate of scampi when he served the lady her special dinner, and it was marvelous. We also tried the Sterling Steakhouse one evening and it was one of the best steaks I have had anywhere. For 8 dollars, it's a bargain. Also, don't miss the afternoon tea, the scones are to die for.
Service was generally very good throughout the ship. There were a few exceptions, but nothing major. Even with everyone inside due to the weather, the ship never felt crowded even though there were lots of 3rd and 4th berth passengers (children). The only place the children were a problem was in the casino, where they occasionally wandered and were not shooed away by the staff quickly enough IMHO. We never saw them otherwise.
They nearly had to force me off the ship, I was so reluctant to leave...
