Hi,
I will not sail without the transderm patches (placed behind your ear). I have been on 2 cruises. The first one, I brought gravol with ginger - didn't last and all I wanted to do was sleep. I thought I was going to have to leave the ship and take a plane home it was so bad. My husband took me down to the infirmary the second night but the doctor was gone. We went back up to the room and I went to sleep. The next day we were at port so I thought well it should get better. When the ship went to leave again that night, we were in the dining room, and my head just automatically went on my husband shoulder. The woman across from me asked me "Dear are you sea sick?"; I said yes. She reached into her purse and handed me 2 transderm patches. She saved my life. They were the best things ever invented. There were no side effects, except I got dry mouth in the middle of the night, so I kept a water by the bed. That was it. I woke up the next day a new person. Needless to say the following year on the 2nd cruise, I brought the patches with me. I was funny though. I tried not to take them as long as possible. I thought, well maybe it was the first cruise and maybe I won't be sick on this one. WRONG!! I put that patch on as soon as I started to feel yucky and had the time of my life. Next time, it's going on before the ship leaves so I do not waste anytime time. Just my opinion.
Good Luck, and have a fantastic cruise.
