Our first cruise was on Princess. Approximately 45 days or 30 days before cruising we received a bunch of paperwork which included luggage tags. How does this work with Carnival? Is everything printed out from my computer or do they send them to us in the mail? When do they send them or when can we print them out? Thanks for your help!!!

The last Carnival cruise I was on (May 2008) we had to print our luggage tags from the computer. After printing them I "laminated" them with clear packaging tape, assembled them and then stapled them together on my luggage. It worried me that the paper tags would rip and my luggage would be without tags...after I did that they were very strong and I didn't worry about them getting ripped off.

I did not receive any documents in the mail. After filling out my fun pass info I was able to access my cruise documents and luggage tags online.

Thanks for the tip on laminating tags with tape. NCL sent us tags in the mail, but we've since upgraded and now they are outdated. I called NCL and they said to just print them on the computer. In any case, they said not to worry because when you get to the check-in, they will have them there!!

When you do your online registration with Carnival, you are given the option of e-docs or traditional docs. Once you have completed your registration (including payment option), you can print your documents if you've selected to do it that way. I don't know exactly what happens if you select the traditional (as I opted for e-docs). I would imagine you'd receive the traditional doc package via snail mail. If you choose the e-docs, I believe you can go online and reprint if your cabin changed.

As others mentioned, you can "laminate" your tags with shipping tape. That's what I plan to do with mine for my April cruise.

Have fun!
