Self Laundry Room?

Just wondering if there are self serve laundry rooms on the ELATION. If so, where are they located? (Which decks?) Also read something about a $15 laundry bag as another option. Anyone with information?
Thanks!

There are self-serve laundries on all CCL ships. Just not sure where they are on the Elation. Wash costs $2....as does dry. Detergent $1. Near the end of your cruise, you'll be given the "bag" offer. Stuff as much as you can in that bag. No limit. CCL will launder it.

Thank you for the information. Not sure about the $15 laundry bag, though. Wondering what size it could possibly be.

We, (the wife), use the laundry room almost daily. I have her do 3 or 4 washes during the cruise. (Gotta stay in practice, you know).

Well, DH insists that we ( I ) pack light. So doing laundry is a must when we travel. ;-)

We always bring multi-load travel size wash detergents on our cruises (several loads for about $1.50). The self-service laundry is fine as long as you don't wait until the last day. I would be concerned with the "big bag" method. I'm paranoid about lost things.

There is self sevice laundry!! BUT DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM YOUR CLOTHES IN THE WASHER OR DRYER OR NOT!!! People will steal them right out of the machines. Sad but true

I'm interested in bringing my own clothes liquid, too. But will have to make the time to visit a nearby Wal-Mart in Miami before boarding. Flying in From South Louisiana and will not risk having extra stuff that could spill or seep out with luggage handling.

I'm more of a night owl, so maybe there will be a nice quiet time when I can slip in and do my laundry and write post cards.

Thanks for the tips!

Have you ever considered having your laundry done for you? We have never used the laundry facilities on a cruise...I'm sorry but I'm on vacation and have no desire to spend any time washing/drying clothes! :) I always pack just enough so I don't have to do laundry but for the few things we may want washed I just send it out and it's in my cabin the next morning. On the first day I always send out our wrinkled clothes to be pressed. Again...don't want to spend time ironing them or steaming them. They are returned the next morning nicely pressed and hanging in the closet. I can't tell you for sure the cost but it's not very expensive and worth every cent in my opinion. The time I would have spent in the laundry room I can spend relaxing on my vacation. And yes I have heard some bad stories about clothes being stolen if you don't stay with them at all times. I also had a friend use the iron once and it ruined the outfit she was wearing for the formal evening...some kind of dirty water spilled out of it and stained her dress! So, if you decide to do it on your own just be careful so you don't have anything taken from you or ruined. Have a great vacation!!

About the size of a sandwich sized zip lock bag. Okay, just kidding. Sorry, but I have never used the bag and don't remember its size.

MeauxMom, are you from "the parish?" Reason asking is that Meaux is spelled almost like Meraux.

I went online to see the price list for laundry services on the ship. It is a bit expensive for my budget. And like I said, I am a night owl. I stay up writing post cards anyway. Not a big deal for me to take care of a couple loads of clothes while writing.

Hmmm... A Zip Lock sandwich bag, huh? <grin> Maybe if it were one for the Jolly Green Giant I'd have enough room to make it worth the effort of stuffing all I can into it.

As for the "Parish"... I live in Vermilion Parish. I live in the very small community of Meaux which is located about 15 miles south of Lafayette, LA. between Kaplan and Abbeville. My family is from Pecan Island, which pretty much got wiped out by Hurricane Rita. Although my home was not damaged, most of my family lost their homes and/or camps. It is a difficult situation, but my brothers and sisters (and their families) are making the best of a terrible disaster.

Seriously looking forward to leaving it all behind for a week.
