Sensation - just back

Just came back from the Sensation out of Tampa. This was our 4th cruise, and I must admit that for the first time I was not totally satisfied with Carnival. I mean, I still enjoyed the cruise, and will continue to take Carnival (Glory 3/20), but this ship left a few things to be desired for. For example, the interiour was nothing special, and the purple walls were - in my opinion - horrible. We also requested to have our dinner table changed, since the waiter showed up every 15 minutes and clearly hated his job. I understand that can happen anywhere, but all the other crew we dealt with was very impersonnable, very distant. Usually the dinning room staff is so nice that you really care for these people and miss them when the cruise is over. Not this time. The same with our room stewart. That something special, memoriable, was just missing from this ship and its crew. The dancers were great, and they even took my 6 1/2 year old son on stage with them to dance. Just wondering if anybody else felt the same when on the Sensation?

We were on the Sensation last year.
I would agree that the dining room service wasn't overly friendly but the food and service were fine.

The decor isn't how I would decorate our home but didn't bother me either.

Actually I was surprised at how nice it was for an 'older' ship.

It was our 1st cruise with Carnival.

We'll be back!

We actually cruised the Sensation twice. Thought for an older ship it was great.
The food was really good both trips 1999 and 2002. We had not complaints at all and I told Carnival this and they sent us a letter stating we could get a stateroom gift on our next cruise. All ships are basically the same and as far as the people you will get that anywhere if the people dislike what they do. Vacation is not always perfect but we always try to make the best and always voice our opions for the good and not so good when we return. Carnival has to know how to fix the not so good things.

Love cruising

If ya can Camelia..go and try one of the new Spirit Class Ships. The decor is toned down and I think you might get a more personal touch. :thumb
