Sensation Update From TA

I am very worried and can't get into another forum site that I can't get in to. A TA that stayed on the Sensation overnight in port last night wrote this message:

I was onboard the Sensation last evening for a special "Overnight in Port" for TA's. When we left the ship this morning @ 9:00 am, they were still working hot and heavy to get the work completed. I think people who have reservations on the sailing that leaves today will be disappointed.

The ship has changed alot of it's soft furnishings. I saw new curtains and bedspreads being distributed to cabins, carpeting in the hallways, and boxes of something in the card room. There has been alot of cleaning, painting, etc., however, the ship is still showing her age. There are places in the purple "aluminum siding" that are gouged and weren't repaired, etc.

As far as the Thanksgiving sailing goes, we were told yesterday that the Sensation will be moving back to New Orleans in October. The Elation will be moved to Port Canaveral and will take over the current itinerary.

Now, I am on the 4th sailing and I really hope issues are squared away but this posting makes me worry about those going now and us.

It is a little hard to comment on information when the source is unknown. However, what is it you are concerned with? That the ship will not be ready? At worst, it will be late for the next cruise. That it is showing its age? I was on the NCL Star, which was built in 2001, and it was showing its age. A few nicks and cuts will not ruin your cruise experience.

Nonetheless, why don't you call Carnival or your TA and discuss this with Carnival or your TA?

I also have been trying to get as much info on the Sensation before our trip in April. I read the TA's review on the other board and she mentioned that she felt some people will be dissappointed. I am hoping for the best. I booked the Sensation with the knowledge that it is an older ship and won't be as nice as some we have been on, but I wanted to go to some different ports and we have'nt been to Grand Turk or Half Moon Cay, so I hope these stops will make it all worth while. I am hoping someone will post a review on their trip before we go so we can get an idea of what to expect. I'm not too worried about some dents in the metal as long as we have a fun loving staff, some of our best times have been memories of the crew members and activities we participated in. I hope you enjoy your trip.

Sensation cancels Grand Turk 3/27

For those sailing on Sensation tomorrow, due to propulsion problems Sensation will not be docking at Grand Turk, instead will visit Freeport. Cruisers have the option to cancel and get a refund

I am also heading on the Sensation April 6th.. I had the choice of the first sailing but I KNEW that in past renovations and the way they cut it so close, I wasnt going to risk it. I figure by the 4th sailing, things should be in order..
