Sept 28th Western Carribean -- Weather question!

In a couple of days, I'll be departing on Carnival's Conquest for a Western Carribean cruise. Incidentally, this is my first one.

Anyway, I was checking the weather reports and I got a little concerned. It looks like it's supposed to rain every single day of our cruise (or almost every day). Given the fact that it's hard to find the time and money for a cruise, I'd really hate for that to happen!

So, here's my question...

Will you pray for good weather? ;)

Ok, seriously, here's my real question. I know that weather obviously changes every day, but there tends to be seasonal patterns in most places. Has anyone specifically cruised this course at about this time-of-year before? And if so, does it tend to rain all day, or just briefly and then get sunny?

I'm just trying to figure out what to expect, while hoping for the best!

Welcome to the party! My wife and I are traveling on our first cruise as well, and on the Conquest. If you take a look, (if you want to that is), there are a bunch of us on the message board (look for the the close to 400 posts, that's us).

I have no idea what the weather will be like, but saw your post and it coincided with the time we're all going.

It sounds like everyone is going to have a complete blast!

Glass, below's our thread for this weekend's Conquest cruise...welcome. I've been following the weather for our sailing closely as well...it looks like no more than 30% chance of rain each day, typical tropical afternoon flare-up stuff. Afternoon shower may pass through, that kind of thing. Fortunately enough cold fronts keep sweeping down to push the major Atlantic systems to the North, and with another front expected to pass through the Gulf early next week we should get quite a bit of sun. I hope! Knock on wood!

Ditto on the DKs message above. There will be some rain, but definitely not a wash-out. Welcome to the 9-28-03 cruise. I've been watching the satellite imagry of the tropics for 3 or 4 weeks now, and have noticed that most of the tropical systems are following a WNW or NW track, eventually locking on to the early cool fronts that have traversed the US. Also, those thermal, tropical, thunderstorms around the Carribean have been popping up daily.

This is me and the wifes' second cruise on the Conquest, with the first one being back in April. Be prepared for an exceptional good time. Ask around for a member of the "Vice Squad" when you get onboard. The two posters above me are bonafide members also.
