Well I can the budget minded wanting to save money, and this sounds nice if you're going somewhere you can stop and have a picnic say. I plan on browing the shops mainly and just breathing in the hopefully nicer air. I only have on place I could picnic, Mendenhall Glacier IF I go there. In London I went to a local shop and got cheap food and picniced in Hyde Park, cheaper than eating in a restaurant for lunch, so taking sandwiches I would do if in the same circumstances. Besides, I like to support local economies in some way. That's what being a tourist is all about. Partly anyway.
