Ship Themes

Out of curiosity, I've read that the Carnival ships have themes, and I'm wondering who can tell me which ships have which themes? I sailed on Elation and, to be honest, have no clue if it had a theme or not. This is just a general interest question, not a decision-maker regarding what cruise to book. Look forward to the info!

Hi Jess,

The Victory's theme was the oceans of the world. Areas were decorated and named with sea and under-the sea-themes: The Atlantic Dining Room, The Caribbean Lounge, The Pacific Dining Room, Club Artic, The Caspian Bar, The Irish Sea Pub, etc.

The Triumph was themed with famous locations and cities of the world. The resataurants were The London Dining Room and The Paris Dining Room. Other locations on the ship were Club Rio, Hollywood Dance Club, Club Manaco, The Big Easy Bar, etc.

And the Legend's rooms were named and decorated with famous legends of history, Hollywood, sports and fantasy. The was Medusa's Lair, and Merlin's Casino. The show lounge was named for Atlantis. The lIbrary is named after Sherlock Holmes, and the spa was named the Fountain of Youth.

You can probably figure out the theme of any Carnival ship by looking at the deck plans and reading the names of all the rooms. They should all have something in common. (BTW, I'm not sure if their older ships had theme like the newer ones do.)

Elation was the first Fantasy Class ship that was a little more subdued in it's decor. More Muted tones, less neon.

Sensation had a lot of purple. And the bar with the "hands".

I think it was Fascination that had maniquins in lots of areas, kind of creepy. I heard that after the last refurb the maniquins were gone but can't confirm that. =huh

The Bacchus dining room on the Miracle had round purple lights in the ceiling (supposed to look lake grapes since Bacchus was the wine God) Also a huge purple chandelier that looks like a bunch of grapes.

Ecstasy was much brighter, lots of Caribbean colors and neon.

It has been a while since I was on Celebration and nothing stands out in my memory about that one.

Triump - special cities of the World

Paradise - salutes famous ships of the past

Facination - features Hollywood

Elation - revolves around creators and their creations

Inspiration - honors the Arts

Imagination - from imaginary places

Glory - color

I know that Ecstasy's theme is New York / City Lights. I've also heard it's been redone (new carpet, flat-screen TV's, etc.) since being used during Katrina.
